Question by April =): What signs did YOU have that labor was near?
Would love to hear personal experiances of pre labor signs you had and then how long after you went into labor. Did you lose your mucous plug? And also did you show that you were dilated/efaced at your OB check ups? How much and how long till you had baby? I am 50% efaced and 1 dilated today at my check up. Last weeke i was dilated 1 but only 30% efaced. I am 37 weeks monday! Also, I have been having menstural like symptoms, cramps and back aches and shooting sciatica pains down my butt to my calf for the past two days. Contractions have always been FREQUENT with me since 20 weeks and now they are a little more crampy. hmmmm, i wonder if baby is coming early??

Don’t worry honey! 37 weeks is full term! If your baby comes at 37 weeks it’s okay! Not considered a premie

I had my bloody show Tuesday, and then throughout Wednesday I had irregular back contractions. I also felt nauseous and was very lethargic. I wasn’t checked for effacement until I went into hospital and I was 2cm and 80% effaced.
I had “period” cramping, lower backache and cramps from 36wks but I delivered at 39wks 4d. That’s a sign of very early labour though
I was 40 weeks preggers Saw my midwife on monday, nothing. A bit of effacing but not much, lost my plug that night. nothing. Saw obstetrician on Tuesday, nothing. Booked in to have induction for following Monday. Woke up Wednesday, nothing. I went about my daily routine, dropping kids off etc. 1.30 in afternoon feeling a little crampy 2.30 phone my midwife I’m having a few pains. 2.50 shes at my home does an internal 6-7 cm dilated, my waters had broken who knows when but I hadn’t felt them go. By the time I get out front door into midwifes car i’m ready to push. I have to hold off pushing for 5 min’s to make it to the medical centre just around the corner from me. To top it off I had my 2 year old with me who was crying at all the panic so at 3.15 I delivered my 3rd son with my second son snuggled into my shoulder. Quick and fast
